"I love photographing weddings with a team of people who love what they do and care about their clients like Kate with Main Street Ballroom. Her unique industrial and elegant wedding venue in the heart of Old City Ellicott City offers something truly different. Watching her transform the space to a blank slate with character was impressive. From her transparent approach to a wedding venue, her warm professional demeanor, and eye for a space that stands out, Kate and her team make your wedding venue feel like an extension of “your home for the day”!"
"15 THINGS TO ASK WHEN PICKING A VENUE"
Check out blogger Megan Campbell's post for Baltimore Bride Magazine with a great checklist of questions to ask on your venue tours-- and the reasons she chose Main Street Ballroom for her wedding venue.
"In September 2018 we are getting married at Main Street Ballroom in Ellicott City. The venue is super industrial with the exposed stonework since it was an old car dealership. There is a ton of parking on site as well as within a one-mile radius, it was in our price range, it’s large enough to host both the ceremony and reception with our 125 guests and Ellicott City offers a stunning backdrop for photos. There are hotels and plenty of Airbnb’s near the venue and the restaurant literally RIGHT NEXT DOOR stays open until 2am so the after party will be easy to find."
PUBLISHED ON MOD WEDDING
We hosted a whiskey brunch themed styled photoshoot at Main Street Ballroom and it was published on the bridal blog MOD Wedding. Photography by the lovely L.A. Birdie Photography.
"If you’re a fan of whiskey and brunch, you’ll fall in love with this Baltimore wedding inspiration shoot. Inspired by craft whiskey cocktails, L.A. Birdie Photography and a team of local Baltimore wedding vendors came together to create a unique wedding event. From a waffle wedding cake (100 times yes!) to thick-cut bacon hanging on copper wire hooks, the brunch menu was playful with a kick. The beautiful models wore gowns from Elizabeth Cooper‘s 2017 collection, stunning flower crowns and glowing makeup. All of this went down at the Main Street Ballroom."
featured IN THE BALTIMORE SUN (twice!)
Main Street Ballroom is honored to be featured twice in the Baltimore Sun since opening in 2017.
"Jaws dropped, Swecker said. 'People are still talking about it.'”
“The location is extremely desirable. It’s got the rustic charm, and it’s in the heart of Ellicott City. It’s like a blank canvas.”
